Guild of Dungeoneering
Roguelite card battler developed by Gambrinous and released in 2015.
Combat
- Time is modeled using rounds with simultaneous resolution.
- Combat space is modeled with an abstract head-to-head layout.
- Action selection: One action, must be selected from cards in hand. Used cards are replaced by drawing from the deck, which is made up of all the cards granted by the character’s equipment.
Party Management
- Character management is roster-based; one character of each class can be recruited and maintained.
- Character advancement is per-mission; your character starts the dungeon at level 1 and some starting equipment. Only the character’s traits carry over between missions. Characters immediately gain a level when they defeat an enemy of equal or higher level.
- Characters are subject to permadeath.
- Party size is one.
Interactions
- Simultaneous resolution in combination with permadeath is particurarly troublesome - a double KO means death for the character, and double KOs are extremely common. Obtaining quick attacks, either by being a Ranger or equipping an item than grants quickness, allows the character to deal damage first and greatly contributes to survivability.
